Airedale takes care of everything – even the Royal Wedding!
We always try to go the extra mile to take care of our customers and pay attention to all the little details which make your group holiday a happy occasion. But in 2011, we wanted to make sure that our Group Organisers can take part in a happy occasion of an altogether different sort!
With so many of our customers arranging their holidays well in advance of their departure date (up to 12 months in some cases), none of our organisers were prepared for the announcement of Prince William & Kate Middleton’s engagement or the subsequent Royal Wedding, which will be held on Friday 29 April 2011.
Always one step ahead of the crowd, we soon realised that many of our customers would miss out on seeing this historic televised event if they were due to travel to or from a group holiday on that date.
“We knew that many of our customers would be disappointed not to be able to watch the wedding on live television” says John Brain, Director of Airedale Tours “so we contacted each and every hotel our groups were due to arrive at or depart from on the day of the Royal Wedding to ask whether we could re-arrange arrivals for a day later. That way we were able give our customers the option to delay their holiday departures by one day so that they can join in the nationwide celebrations.”
We were delighted that we were able to move the departures of all our tours so that we could keep our groups extra happy, thus proving that customer satisfaction is down to taking care of the fine details.
