Itinerary/Excursions
Day 01
Fly to Lanzarote, and once at your destination be met with a private coach transfer to your hotel. Enjoy dinner at your hotel.
Day 02
Today you will embark on a center tour of Lanzarote. The historical town of Teguise will be your first stop, just like it was one of the earliest settlements established in the Canary Islands. Discover a great number of buildings that hold a historical and artistic value as you take a stroll, getting a feeling of how the town would have been in early colonial times. You will then visit the Cesar Manrique Foundation, headquarted in a spectacular dwelling desgined by Manrique himself. After visiting this wonderful architecture head to El Golfo. This tiny seaside village is the ideal spot for a lunch break, with delicious fresh fish lunches served overlooking the sea.
Day 03
Start your day with an imposing view of Lanzarote at Timanfaya National Park, the only national park in the Spanish network that is of eminently geological nature. The Mountains of Fire will immerse you in the world of volcanoes with geothermal demonstrations and a tour of the Ruta de los Volcanes. Continuing on, Echadero de los Camellos has a museum to learn about the traditional uses of camels and farming tools. You can also choose to ride a camel (for an extra cost on the day). A winery in la Geria then awaits, with vineyards sprawling across an impressive landscape. The protected landscape of La Geria is home to award winning wines, like some of the better known wines of the malvasia grape. Underneath these spectacular vineyards is another natural jewel, the cave of Los Naturalistas. Enjoy tasting one of these delectable wines, and you can even order local tapas if you please.
Day 04
Enjoy a free day at your hotel. You can upgrade to all-inclusive for the day for an extra €34pp, ask your tour leader for any suggestions or relax and enjoy at leisure!
Day 05
After breakfast, journey to la Cueva de los Verdes with its unique volcanological characteristics and lava tube. Formed by complex tunnels and nooks and crannies with fascinating vaults and interior lagoons. After walking the path with ambient sound and light making this a poetic experience, travel to Jameos del Agua, the first Art, Culture, and Tourism Center created by Manrique. Much like the Cueva de los Verdes, the Jameos del Agua has its origin after the eruption of the Corona Volcano. Concluding your tour of the north of Lanzarote, visit the breathtaking cliff of Mirador del Rio. One of the best viewpoints of the island, and another work of Manrique, the Mirador del Rio is characterised by the architecture's simple design that integrates with the natural landscape.
