Day 02

Head to St. Teresa di Gallura for the ferry to Bonifacio, at the southern tip of Corsica. A guided tour reveals the charms of this town perhced on top of steep cliffs. Enjoy a ride on the sightseeing train to the medieval old town. Bonifacio is the oldest town in Corsica and is split into two parts, the main town is just inside the principal gateway whilst at the end of the peninsula there are military fortifications and a cemetery. After the tour there is free time to relax at the harbour with the wonderful backdrop of cliffs and the citadel above, before continuing to Hotel San Pellegrino.

Day 03

Travel north to Bastia, a town full of art and history. Take a stroll down the lovely medieval alleys lined by ancient buildings to a lofty bell tower. During the day, stop to enjoy a tasting of locally grown produce.

Day 04

After checking out of the hotel, trvael to the Calanches of Piana on one of the most picturesque stretches of coastline on the island. The almost surreal world of weather- carved pink granite rocks creates a most unusual vista of strangely shaped figures, some up to 300m high, others plunging dramatically down towards the turquoise sea below. Continue to the elegant town of Ajaccio, encircled by wood covered mountains to the rear, and the port and citadel towards the sea, where a guided tour will show you the main sights. As you stroll along the lanes of the old town, we discover its Napoleonic heritage, and its many prestigious museums (entrances extra). After free time to explore and check into Hotel Du Golfe.

Day 05

After checking out, return from Ajaccio to Bonifacio and aboard the ferry for the crossing back to Sardinia and to the hotel in the Palau area. The remainder of the day is at leisure to relax and unwind at Hotel Sestenta.

Day 06

A stunning ecursion today takes you along the Emerald Coast, which is synonymous with turquoise seas, fabulous coves and opulance. The Emerald Coast, founded by the Aga Khan in 1962, is Sardinia's most glamorous holiday destination. Stop in Porto Cervo, a holiday spot for the super-rich and the main town on the Emerald Coast before continuing to Cala di Volpe, an exclusive natural port where some scenes for the James Bond film, The Spy Who Loved Me, were filmed, and Porto Rotondo.

Day 07

The dazzling emerald-green waters of the Maddalena Archipelago, make a casual observer think that they have landed in paradise. Leave Palau by boat to La Madalena and circumnavigate the island on the breathtaking Strada Panoramica before crossing on to the neighbouring islet of Caprera via the 600-metre-long narrow bridge dam, Ponte Moneta.
