Chartwell

Churchill bought Chartwell in 1922, and used it as a main writing, painting and entertaining base in the '20s and '30s. The National Trust has since taken over the preservation of the house, along with many of Churchill's amateur paintings.

The Historic Chatham Dockyard

Expect to see lots of historic Royal Navy dockships at this 18th-century museum! The first Royal Dockyard to build submarines, there is lots of maritime history to be discovered here.

Hever Castle & Gardens

The childhood home of Anne Boleyn, Hever Castle & Gardens was the seat of the Boleyn family from 1462 to 1539. Hever later passed ownership to Henry VIIIs later wife, Anne of Cleves. William Waldorf Astor saved the castle from falling into decline by investing time, money and imagination into restoring the castle, with the 'Tudor Village' and magnificent gardens and lake being commissioned to transform the castle into a home that envisions wealth, history and passion.
