Visit the Official Royal Residences
Historic Royal Palaces have confirmed that the King's Royal Residences are open for groups to visit.
The three official residences of the monarch are Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle, and Holyrood Palace in Edinburgh. The stunning buildings are where the royal family lives, as well as undertaking the official work of Head of State.
Millions of people visit the Palaces every year to see the Royal Collection, learn about the history of the buildings, and see how they are used today. Group visits have been confirmed, with exclusive offers for groups in 2023. For the first time, groups are able to have a private view of Queen Mary's Dolls' House at Windsor Castle or take an after-hours tour at Holyrood Palace. The after-hours tour at Holyrood Palace will give you an educational insight into its most famous inhabitants, such as Mary, Queen of Scots, and is the only opportunity to see the West Drawing Room.
The 2023 open period for Buckingham Palace is yet to be confirmed, but groups will be able to take a tour of the gardens' highlights, and a multimedia tour of the State Rooms.
