Art Deco in Many Forms

Antwerp is famous for art deco, where it can be seen in many variations, it is also one of the birthplaces of Art Nouveau. Take a trip to Victor Horta's former residence for a private tour, enjoy a gala dinner in an art deco restuarant and explore the architecture of Antwerp.

Itinerary/Excursions

Day 01

Take the Eurostar from London St. Pancreas to Brussels, then take a transfer to Antwerp for a tour of the city. Key highlights of the tour include Antwerp Central Station, the Zurenborg District, Cogels-Osylei and the Dageraadplaats before returning to the hotel.

Day 02

After breakfast, head to Brussels to visit the Horta Museum which is in Victor Horta's former family home and is dedicated to his life and work as one of the founders of the Art Noveau movement. Depending on the weather, either take part in an art deco walking tour or a slow bus tour of the area to admire the archeological features of the spectacular buildings. You will then visit the Van Buuren Museum for a private tour with a special presentation on the art museum's collection and the importance of art deco and a look around the tranquil surrounding gardens.

Day 03

Today you will take a tour around the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp before taking a walking tour two visit two of the most important art deco monuments. De Vooruitgang and De Vier Winden are both exquisite examples of art deco. A guided visit of Europe's first skyscraper with art deco design is next. This evening, you will enjoy a four-course gala dinner at Racine, a trendy skybar, with an open bar for two hours. 

Day 04

Take a transfer back to the station, and take the Eurostar back to London.
