Uncover the stories of one of the most famous landmarks in the world. Experience the unforgettable atmosphere of the Stone Circle and follow in the footsteps of the prehistoric people who lived there 4,000 years ago. 

Avebury

One of the greatest marvels of British prehistoric history, Avebury survives as a huge circular bank and ditch, Avebury is part of an extraordinary set of Neolithic and Bronze Age ceremonial sites that formed a vast sacred landcscape. 

Salisbury Cathedral

A medieval masterpiece, with Britain's tallest spire, largest cloisters, and biggest Cathedral Close. Here, you can also see an original 1215 Magna Carta. 800 years of history await as you step into this living church with intricate stained glass and ancient architecture combined with the contemporary modern.

Lacock Abbey NT

Filmed in two of the Harry Potter movies, Fantastic Beasts and Downton Abbey, Lacock Abbey has been many things in its 800 years. Starting as a nunnery in the late 1200s and evolving to a Tudor home it has then since evolved with every owner and in 1835, the first photographic negative was captured in the Abbey.

Longleat House

Wander through the sweeping corridors and grand rooms on a tour of Longleat House to discover one of the most significant private collections in Britain. Home to the 8th Marquis and Marquoness of Bath, this magnificent piece of Elizabethan architecture is also home to Capability Brown landscaped gardens.

A warm welcome awaits you at the Leigh Park Country House Hotel & Vineyard. Set in five acres of landscaped gardens, overlooking the picturesque Wiltshire Downs and only a short journey from Bath, the Leigh Park is a classical Grade II listed building, a Georgian country house hotel with charm, character and a subtle elegance. The superbly appointed Vine conservatoire Restaurant offers both traditional English and International cuisine using prime local produce together with home grown organic fruit and vegetables from the kitchen garden. The Hotel offers 38 individually designed bedrooms, with the more traditional style rooms in the main house together with sixteen brand new contemporary chic designed executive bedrooms some in the former Coach House. Leigh Park has its own Vineyard which consists of 600 Reichensteiner vines in the one acre of walled garden within the grounds, which produce a particularly attractive medium dry white wine, exclusive to the Hotel. Queen Elizabeth I is believed to have stayed in the original house here, so as far as past guests are concerned, you'll be in the absolute best of company!
